Pill Alert Pro App Reviews

Very helpful and best Ive found so far!

Just got this a couple days ago and love this for both tracking and alarming my familys multiple supplements and medications. I bought the multiple user profile as well as no adds, both for 2 bucks, which is worth it! Such a helpful app and wish I found sooner! Id love to see a few more enhancements though and id be extremely happy, including some already mentioned by others. My picks would be: 1. Mood tracking in a trendable manner and see if there are correlations to meds, supplements, or dosages. 2. Add brand of meds or vitamins as their own line item. I really like the back up features already built in and alarms on my apple watch! I also like that you can adjust times you took the meds if you were unable to update in the moment. Thank you! I also hope we can pull the raw data out at some point and merge with other health data we may have.

Pill Alert

A very nice tool especially for people who are prescribed many drugs with various times for administrating.

Sync

This app does NOT sync with other IOS devices.

Awesome

Great reminder app. Told everyone about it

Takes Some Time to Set Up

But once you get a feel for the app, it gets easier to get going. Fantastic for setting up as many or few details as you may want with your scripts. Can be a little tedious set up each prescription, but once you do youre SET, Recommended for anyone who has to give or take a lot of regular meds, can remind you when your going to need refills, and is convenient even if you have a script for a week or. Im still using the free version, the adds are small and I barely notice them, but still Plan on purchasing the full app as I already like it so much

Seems to be working

I chose several medication log apps-I take a couple on an as needed basis and need to track how much I need them. I utilize a timer to ensure that Im not taking too much but this allows me to see how frequently I actually do take them. None are as intuitive or as straightforward as Id like but this one is becoming more clear. AARP has a very easy to use tracking system for other health aspects (blood pressure, glucose, pain, mood, weight and more) as well as a simple list of medications and supplements (can be easily entered by taking pictures of assorted bottles and boxes including OTC) but doesnt seem to have a log. Ill probably keep it and one like this in order to cover all my bases (until I recover from my injuries).

Worthless… Dont waste your money!

I did a lot of research before choosing this app and it worked great for the first week or so. Then I started to notice medications that I had logged as "taken" were magically reappearing under the "overdue" section. I thought this was a fluke at first, but then it started happening every day. I contacted app support for help, but they said it was my error and I wasnt logging them correctly. I cant afford to take a medication twice because of this apps unreliability. Waste of money, this app is worthless.

Good Idea, Needs some Tuning

App takes some time to learn and set-up, then does a reasonable job. My biggest problem is entering multiple items at a time other than scheduled time. The only time "Take All" appears is after after the scheduled time has passed and then only at Achilles time, being able to enter multiple items at "Take Now" earlier or later than scheduled time is almost a must for accurate record keeping! I had less than timely or polite support until I promised to post an unflattering review, then I got a modicum of reluctant support. If the App is updated to reflect some of my concerns, I would recommend it to others, if not, no recommendations, but I will continue to use it, but look for a suitable replacement.

Hard to use

Do not like this app. It is so hard to use.

Pretty Good App

This app is actually not so bad. Im not a fan of most pill tracker apps out there right now, but I really like the format of the app. There is just one big thing that causes me to not be able to use the app. Im supposed to be taking a certain medication every 1-2 hours, but the minimum time the app allows when selecting frequency is every 3 hours. Please let me know if Im mistaken and I just cant find it, because other than that I really do like the app. I love all the information it asks me when putting in all of my medication and I really like the way it looks!

A Pharmacists Opinion

Please let me preface by stating plainly that I do indeed use this app for my personal medication management and that I have no conflicts of interest to disclose. I have tried other apps of this sort and have found this one to be the least rigid, most customizable, and most complete. In my personal use and in testing for potential recommendation to my patients, I have found two fairly significant issues and two relatively minor issues that I believe should be addressed. The major issues: First is the use of trailing zeros. Trailing zeros have historically been a dangerous source of confusion and best practice measures dictate they not be used. Having a free text field to enter a strength would be preferred. Second is the inability to enter a combo drugs correct dose, i.e. Lotrel 10/40mg, Norco 5/325mg, due to the scroll wheel digit selection and the pre-formatted 00.00 presentation. This issue does lend itself to the first in that a free text field would be a viable solution. The minor issues: First, it would be nice if the strength were to populate on the "medications" menu in addition the the name, route, frequency, and remaining pill count. Second, from a hospital standpoint, having last dose information including date and time available on the "medications" menu would be helpful as well. Having a correct, concise list readily available is a huge time saver and safety measure when presenting to a physicians office, an ER, outpatient surgery center, etc. With seemingly a few tweaks, this app would provide everything necessary to fully and accurately document a medication regimen. Just my two cents. Ill continue using this myself but I dont think its quite to the point where I would be comfortable recommending it to my patients. Addendum: I have found a work around for the issue of strength displaying on the "medications" menu by entering the strength as a part of the drug name. That portion of my review I respectfully retract.

Not for me

I am frustrated after evaluating several medication/pill reminders. I do not need the following features: refill reminder record keeping and email transmission best price finder I want: One alarm for multiple medications; I take one set of meds first thing and the alarm for the evening meds is my reminder to go to bed. Occasionally I need to set more complicated schedules, such as 4 per day, then 3 per day, then 2 per day but those are special schedules I want this for me, not for someone else to administer medications to me. The dosage should not be needed for something such as a pill. A pill is a unit. The size of the unit is part of the description, not part of the reminder. It would be useful to print out a list of current meds with complete generic name, dosage, etc. and prescribing frequency but possible side effects should not be part of such a list; the doctor should know them. Side effects in such a print out should only be those I have noted. In that case allowance to list allergies would be useful

Excellent & Useful

Especially like refill reminders and realtime inventory for multiple meds. Thanks !! Re Pharmacists work around for dosage strength and mixed medication dosages: it probably would have been helpful if I had mentioned that in my initial review. I mention it now to affirm it has been a viable use for me since downloading some time ago. I use the app daily for 8 separate pills (3 different meds). No errors noted. All notifications sent.

Home Health RN Opinion

I set this up for my brother who is on multiple medications for management of pain related to cancer. While it takes some time to set up, it is working well. He gets reminded by the alert and can see when his meds are due. I can see wha he has taken and when. Tip- when I entered the name of the drug, I also wrote what it was for and what it looks like example Lyrica (nerve pain) red&white cap

Awful

Does not work on a 24 hours basis. I cannot fathom why so much work went in developing this app, with so many illogical holes.

Wow, what an experience

Cut to the Chase: No iCloud sync. Says it has it. Maker claims iCloud is not reliable LATELY. TAP, then wait...Taken, skipped, Snoozed? Just tap your choice and wait, wait, wait, wait... Now my iPhone is crashing. High hopes - dashed.
